ESYC Hoops Highlight: Lucas Hudson

Some refer to him as “The Catalyst”, while others know him as “White Chocolate”. At ESYC we have watched him flourish in his latter middle school years as one of our Travel league players — seeing his hard work pay off in dividends. In this ESYC Hoops Highlight we salute Lucas Hudson!

Lucas as a So. Lehigh Spartan

Lucas as a So. Lehigh Spartan

This year Lucas hung up his ESYC jersey as a middle school graduate to go on to play with the Southern Lehigh High School Spartans — not before making his mark among the most elite middle school players in the Northeast US, and beyond. Most recently, Lucas made the Morning Call’s Sports front page for his phenomenal performance at this summer’s Annual Lehigh Valley Sportsfest this past week while playing for his new high school team. This prestigious exposure follows his award as MVP in the Jr. All-City Classic, and a great performance with Nike’s Team Final in AAU Nationals — finishing 13th in the nation!

Aside from his great performance on the Court, Lucas maintains a straight “A” average, having graduated from one of the Lehigh Valley’s top private schools, Lehigh Christian Academy. When recognized for his accomplishments, Lucas never fails to give God thanks, citing, “If you work hard and stay humble, the sky is the limit”.

Lucas can be seen in just about any Skills and Drills session available in the area — including the I’m Possible Pro training offered at ESYC. He has been especially noted for his “craftiness” by I’m Possible Pro Trainer, Lemar Washington — citing that Lucas would be able to implement new skills learned in a very short amount of time.

Traveling often, Lucas’ dad assists him with his schoolwork remotely, while his mom, “Miss Marsha”, as she likes to be called, has become a familiar face in the youth basketball arena this side of the Northeast. “I absolutely love being a part of Lucas’ basketball life because of all the wonderful people I have met”, says she.

We will miss you as an ESYC player, Lucas, but know that your success will continue. ALL THE BEST TO YOU!
